signed Cole ‘coldForce’ ‘Friendly Federal Assassin’ Allen

Never give yourself a nickname. It cannot look cool. If he completely succeeded, this manifesto would still hurt his cause. Luigi didn’t call himself Saint Luigi so it sticks instead of coming off as narcissistic.

The ruling interests want you labeled, filed, and indexed from the moment you’re born. They give you a name for their ledgers, their police files, and their tax rolls. But when you name yourself, you’re engaging in a revolutionary act of self-definition!

Why should the bureaucratic apparatus have a monopoly on your identity? By seizing the “means of nomenclature,” you’re asserting your own sovereignty against the crushing weight of institutional tradition. It’s a grassroots rejection of the pre-packaged persona. You’re saying: “I am not your data point!” It’s the ultimate democratic gesture—defining yourself on your own terms!

You can give yourself a legal name and a nom de guerre, but not a nickname unless it’s ironic or adopting a professional one that already exists. Every doctor and paramedic can call themselves Doc and that’s acceptable.

God I wish I could tell the story of my fight name at my MMA gym and how it got turned on its head. I got dropped by a liver shot, people laughed, and the coach changed my name to be embarrassing.

The nickname itself is still cool to people who weren’t there and the story of it getting ruined still makes people I find attractive laugh.

Motherfuckers will write their own manifesto when we have a perfectly good manifesto at home

Like, if I was an Iranian agent, instead of an American citizen, I could have brought a damn Ma Deuce in here and no one would have noticed shit.

It might seem silly what I’m bout to say: you would not have gotten 1/3 as far as you did (racism)

      Wait it gets funnier:

Objection 1: As a Christian, you should turn the other cheek.

Rebuttal: Turning the other cheek is for when you yourself are oppressed.

Got it, so activism is for privileged people only 😆

No, he’s very obviously not saying that, as it completely contradicts the rest of what he’s saying. Instead of assuming that what someone says is nonsensical, perhaps you should try for 3 seconds to think of a different interpretation.

                That’s what I’m focusing on.

Yeah, I noticed because of the way you ignored the rest.

Nah it’s kinda mediocre, especially for a manifesto. Like if he was just speaking off the cuff I wouldn’t call him on this.

          (CW: rape mention)

Objection 1: As a Christian, you should turn the other cheek.

Rebuttal: Turning the other cheek is for when you yourself are oppressed. I’m not the person raped in a detention camp. I’m not the fisherman executed without trial. I’m not a schoolkid blown up or a child starved or a teenage girl abused by the many criminals in this administration.

Turning the other cheek when someone else is oppressed is not Christian behavior; it is complicity in the oppressor’s crimes.

Actually, if you are being oppressed, turning the other cheek is usually a suboptimal option. It’s cool that he’s doing…the bare minimum?..of saying “privileged people shouldn’t be complicit in the oppressor’s crimes”, but IMO this manifesto is centrist learned helplessness at its finest.

Edit: turned down the heat, I’m critiquing the manifesto, not yelling at anyone.

I don’t think it’s bad to be like “people who are in a privileged position compared to the oppressed are more morally weighted to stop oppression”. It’s not a contradiction to say the oppressed would know better what to do about oppression, but on the question of acting upon it it’s easier to actually do shit about when you’re not already crushed by whatever social force.

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don’t post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
