I think this is Cassin’s Finch. Im using a guidebook to try and identify the birds I see as opposed to searching the internet.

I was going to ask what you’re using to shoot all these creatures with.
I recommend the Merlin ID app. Its not AI and I think they use it for research. A lot of birders use it. It’s been very helpful.
But also using book is always nice if you want to not use your phone when connecting with nature.
Thanks for the rec. I’ll look into that one. I have iNaturalist but it’s hit or miss on stuff.
Oh yeah i have INaturalist also. But I normally use that for plants and bugs.
