I have been able to self-host many essential services: social media accounts (microblogging, photo sharing, video sharing), a LinkTree alternative for all my links and a powerful private file hosting service. How was I able to do all this?
Simple: with YunoHost, a system that anyone can easily install on a server with little technical knowledge and that gives people access to hundreds of free, open source apps.
Elena is such a gift to the fediverse
Nice! Its my daily driver. Super easy to use it. And you can add Docker on top if need be and use the redirect app to make it easy.
Can’t wait for the piefed install implementation :)
Been happily hosting my stuff on it for three years now, with no previous experience 👍
TIL Yunohost’s site runs on Flask, just like PieFed! Also, they use TailwindCSS, which is actually really nice. I messed around with it a bit at one point and was a fan.
Freedombox but with more modern and popular apps? I was just thinking about this kind of thing.
