i am literally going in-patient on Monday and then entering a 90-day mental health residential community because i am currently unable to function. i recently lost my job and even had the FBI show up at my house. i am spiraling, i am going fucking insane with rage and fear. i’m going to lose my 13 year relationship if i don’t learn some new coping skills and stabilize myself.

…and i’m pissed. my mental illnesses have been severely exacerbated by the rise of fascism in America. how the fuck am i not supposed to feel threatened? i am LGBT, i am an outspoken communist—i’m a large part of what this administration just labeled as an enemy and a terrorist. of course i am falling apart and feeling the need to “get them” before they get me.

Big oil prefer us to feel hopeless about climate change, rather than doing something about it and aiming one’s anger at them.

Think about which actions, even small ones, you can take to reduce dependency on fossiel fuel, and oppose big oil, without breaking the law.

It could be individual or collective action.

I find these articles so irritating. They sound so tone-deaf, throwing around clinical terms to say people are sad, while refusing to even consider any solutions.

I wish they’d stop all this “mental health” fluff that is just toxic positivity or a call for it; but if the people were talking amongst themselves instead of getting shepherded into 1-on-1 counseling, they people might go from “I’m feeling sad” to “this world makes us sad” and change things!! oohohooooo so scary!! :O

So how could society take matters in their hand and change everything?

As long as people have conflicting goals they will fight each other instead of building society together.

Everything we do marches us forward on the path to extinction due to climate change. If that isn’t a conflicting goal I don’t know what is.

Rebuilding community is the first step. Capitalism is on its usual decay path to fascism, an ideology based on us fearing each other more than the state. Challenging that notion is the first step to getting heads to roll.

The proletarians fight among themselves. Unifying them with the middle class doesn’t help much.

Revolution without a goal will not change much.
