I had no idea some succulents could do this. I mean, I knew you could easily propagate them from cuttings but I thought at least a small section of the stem/rhizome needed to be intact. This just happened by sheer accident after it broke off.

Huh, I thought the people collecting hundreds of succulents in starfield were weird, but it turns out that’s just how it be.
How are they multiplying the pots?
You just break off a little piece of the pot, make sure it includes a portion of the bottom, and put some soil in it. And patience! Growing a new pot for your succulent takes time ❤️❤️

succulents do this all the time in the wild, so they can spread clonally, since pollination is quite far and few between in the desert. one of the kalanchoes does this so much it has become invasive.(mother of thousands)

i saw them growing in peoples front yards, they had to remove the plants because it would be producing so much plantlets.
