100%. It’s not enough for them to get everything, they also need to be liked. And they know they aren’t and it bothers them to their core.
This especially describes Elon Musk. I can’t think of any other reason why he’d pay people to play video games on his accounts.
Most people who fall into hardcore chuddery do it because they are lonely and unliked, and are told by their fellow CHUDs that it will make them more likable and popular, they are always “telling it like it is” and “speak for the silent majority” so when that silent majority fails to manifest, because they don’t exist, it makes the CHUDs uncomfortable, they are just looking for human connection, but want to also never actually be the sort of person worth forming a connection with. It’s a deeply, fundamentally uncomfortable existence.
It’s the need to enforce hierarchy, you see it with the way they’ll talk to LGBT people as well

Fascism is the disturbing logical conclusion of the “gotta keep up with the Joneses” mindset. I fully agree they’re protecting what they perceive as their title as ‘king’ from ‘usurpers’. It literally is the TV trope offended by an inferior’s success…and they say we’re the politics of envy.
I think many chuds just force themselves to hate any given minority. Because to them, they are “The Joneses”.

that’s definitely my takehome when reading about historical poverty, seeing kids stacked in elevators going into deep mines, seeing families living 20 people to a room with no heat in winter… “these people are quite unaccomplished.”
Has America been rewriting history of slavery? Slavery should have not been reinstated.
