The artist was raised somewhere in the east coast south and ended up living in northern west coast. About as far physically as one can go in the continental us without using florida or washington although I kinda wander whats farther. The tip of maine to baja or the tip of florida to northwest washington. I mean I feel like its gotta be the florida one given how big it is.
My favorite enby honorific is “Comrade”
I also find ‘my friend’ to be very useful
100% this. As a fellow Southern individual living in the PNW, I have also had this struggle.
I should mention though this is dragon con though so it is back south east.
Same, but I got over it. I never got over saying “y’all” though, and I don’t think I ever will.

Because it’s an explicit informal plural second person word that standard english lacks.
Most languages have a distinction between second person and second person plural (and a formal word for second person singular/plural, which may or may not overlap).
Going from english to spanish gave me back the formal you that I am used to in turkish.
Y’all is a perfect word I will not allow anyone to hate on it
Y’all is just too nice of a contraction. “You all” is too harsh of a statement, but y’all gives it enough fun flair to be okay. I tried ditching it when I was a teen, but eventually came around as an adult.
i have a hard time imaging anyone balking at your majesty; good choice. lol
Makes me appreciate that my country’s typical honourific (mate) is gender neutral.
Habibi always feels special
