If for some reason you’re seeing this and are on the fence: Yes, it is worth picking up, and definitely worth it at the price. The crazy coverage that happened during launch and the continuous smear campaign was blown completely out of proportion. I can attest that I had this game since launch and didn’t have any of the issues that a lot of people were blowing up over. That aside, the game looks amazing and the storyline is great. The RPG portion is well flushed out and leaves huge flexibility on play styles. There are tons of builds out there if you want to look something up pre-made, or if you go in blind you’ll do fine as well. I’ve done around 4 playthrough with different play styles each time, and felt challenged each time. The only thing I can’t make a statement on is how the cop and chase mechanics have worked as I haven’t played since those were released. If you have questions feel free to ask!

It looks like the Ultimate Edition just means it comes with Phantom Liberty which is the expansion they came out with. So technically yes since I bought the expansion, just seperately. I greatly enjoyed the expansion, and it does provide quite a bit of content. Basically there’s a storyline that unlocks at a certain point in your playthrough which I’d say is at least 10 quests? Not sure on the official number. The expansion also gives you additional side jobs as well. I’d check online for the official counts as I may be misquoting.

Great game, especially for this price. It’s not without its issues, but it’s a worthy experience. Some good missions, very immersive cinematics, some interesting story beats, some good characters. Looks great still, despite being five years old.

It will never live up to the hype, but it’s a great experience. I might even prefer it to Witcher 3 as the dust has settled on both.
