Apple AI is shit. And I like it that way! I don’t want AI shoved into every little aspect of everything. The bubble will go pop and actual applications where AI makes sense will remain. So as long as the hardware is nice, updates are provided for many years and the software works ill stick with Apple.

They pushed Image Playground super aggressively though, with a settings notification and auto install.

And the app is complete garbage, and feels like the first gen stable diffusion models.

I want old spotlight back. I wouldn’t mind if they updated the metadata store with document vectors to add semantic search to spotlight, but realistically I just have not touched their very limited AI tools and when I did it was a let down.

Show me proof that any of these companies other than Nvidia are actually profiting from AI (not some bullshit investor cooked books) and I will concede you’re right.

I want Cook to go, but not because he’s losing competition in the AI space.

But because in the last year he’s not leading the company well. His C level guys lies to the court. He’s constantly fucking around with the rules and regulations from the only government body that can and is willing to stand up to them, he sucks at innovating anything else and overal the mojo is just gone. He turned apple from dynamic fun live events to stale pre prepped no risk.

He’s done a lot right in a business sense. But I miss the maverick years. And if you can’t innovate anymore then at least don’t sue a theatre with the same name just because you accidentally started a tv subscription service.

Apple didn’t just innovate, they were rebirthing. And for that a company must have a near death experience. And Cook made the company so safe, it’s got too many airbags and seatbelts to get anywhere close to near dying in the near future.

There will never be another one, and perhaps it was foolish to expect that Apple was going to innovate again.

“Liquid Glass” is enough to tell me that it’s time to hand the reins to someone else.
