Statements like these make it more and more clear that it was never about the economy. It was always about leverage to get others to do what he wants them to do.

He might have overestimated the leverage.

Trump has no intention of ever making a deal. He has made that perfectly clear by now, a deal would mean the threat ends and he losses his false strength. The pathetic little fuck will drag this out as long as possible.

Who fucking cares, he was never gonna make a deal, and we couldn’t trust the fascist, rapist pedophile even if he did. The U.S. is now an enemy state, we need to focus on the rest of the world.

I’m all for anything that opposes Trump and makes him angry. This was the right call for Canada to make and making Trump angry is just a bonus for me. 👏

I can’t tell if Carney making the Palestine announcement right before the deadline was a blunder or a calculated move.

I don’t see it as a blunder. In breaking with US-Israel exceptionalism we are moving closer to out stable EU partners. Two of whom who have also signaled strong Palestine support this week.

It was definitely something that came out of conversations with Macron and friends. I think it’s a part of closing ties with key figures of the EU, but can’t honestly say if it’s playing out well because the gram of goodwill acquired in the EU has to balance against the ounce of aggression, bullying and pettiness coming from the USA

Death to Trump, death to the rapist.

America can go get its teeth kicked in. Cowardly cunts.

Carney is clearly trying to appease Trump as much as possible in order to maintain a weak trade deal for the next few years as he builds up the Canadian economy elsewhere. These gestures state his intentions but he will undoubtedly be forced to align with the US.

Add that to the trade options we can negotiate with US and make it very expensive trade.
If US wants it, Canada gets a lot of benefits, otherwise it costs Canada very little to recognize Palestine
