Well then if they are going to have a problem funding it, they need to start taxing inheritances. I know that as a country we operate a PONZI scheme, but with the way the youth if the country are going to get fucked by the boomers (not every boomer) then the boomers should have taxes increased on what they plan to leave to their kids. Now it’s easier to say than do because there will be a significant amount of boomers who can’t afford to retire let alone leave anything to their kids.
This is what happens when a certain group do not pay their fair share of taxes, and those fucks are corporations.
Trickle down bullshit, the system needs a major change.
BC will probably do the same as every other province, pay big bucks for experts and consultants and we will still have a shit healthcare system with no improvements because there is no reason to improve it as long as the leaches can keep milking the cash from it (BTW, same can be said for homelessness).
I love all my grandparents, but they spent their entire lives uncritically voting in conservative governments for purely religious affiliative reasons. It’s very interesting seeing the younger pair, who are still alive, coming to terms with what their end of life care is going to be.
I have a friend who works in care homes and a lot of old people are wondering why none of their caretakers are native Canadians; those that are never stay long. Everywhere is understaffed. Nobody wants to pay close to living wage so only TFWs and immigrants can afford to work there.
