Magic is cooked. I’m pretty over card games at this point but my friends who aren’t are all playing the one piece card game now.
I wish I could still play magic but it is way too expensive for me to keep up with. I played really heavy years back during zendikar but fell off due to drug use

Probably the last product I’ll buy for like a year with like a dozen UB coming out. They’re doing Spiderman (lol) and Avatar: the Last Airbender next. All so they can cut back on paying artists and writers to make original settings because they ran out of hat ideas.
I’ve seen some of the spidaman spoilers and it just looks like shit
Just an absurd number of legendary creatures, all of them variations of Peter Parker/Spiderman. Set looks like it was supposed to be a Secret Lair, but got turned into a Standard legal set when execs told them to. What’s even more silly is Marvel doesn’t want competition with their own digital games, so they’re making a non-Spiderman version of everything to use on Arena/MODO.

I didn’t expect the space set to be so cool. Gonna try and hit up the prerelease tonight if my lgs still has space.
I also really love this art treatment they did for some of the legends.
I like how this set they finally got abstract or “non-realistic” art down. Other sets with these alternate arts/unconventional pieces have been really mid. Edge of Eternities the art gives off the right vibes and it’s readable as a game piece. WotC forgets a lot of this stuff is going to be in a tiny ass two inch frame looked at from three feet away.

My 4 player pod has basically disintegrated, but I’ve been getting some commander time in with one of my old members and one of their new friends. So that’s been nice. But I’ve basically been checked out of the hype ever since bloomburrow, I guess. I’m relatively new to the game and not a huge lore guy, so the cash grab has gotten old. When they got rid of the set/draft boosters for the play boosters to “cut down on types of packs” to obviously raise prices. I got a bad taste over it, even stopped playing arena. Then a year later or whatever they released Beyond Boosters (for assassin’s creed) and value boosters (for bloomburrow tho I guess the didn’t get much market penetration) and I just checked out. I’ll keep playing that trash but I’ll probably wait to stick the Costco gift packs now.
