My name is Maha, and I'm a trans woman in Iraq. For years, the Islamic regime in Iraq has demonized being Trans. Enmity towards trans people in Iraq is so strong it leaves us all in danger of being hanged or stoned to death.  I was only four years old when I encountered such hatred: there was a dress I had wanted to buy so badly I broke into tears as my mother scolded me: "You are a man, and should not wear this!"

Under the constant strain of over 110 degree heat (44 Celsius), Maha’s electricity exploded.

Thankfully because of the donation you guys helped for she is able to survive. She was able to get a place to stay the night that had working electricity AND was able afford to fix her electricity!

In total, it costed her about $175
