The Unseen Update has arrived in Hades 2, and it’s brought with it a whole bevy of additions, tweaks, fixes, and more.
The first Hades is already on the short list of my favorite games of all time and the current state of Hades II is even better than that. Supergiant are proving to be juggernauts of the gaming scene to me. Hades is amazing and gets better with every update; I can’t wait to see how excellent the release version ends up being!
I like Hades more than Hades 2, but they both are incredible games. Supergiant Games, Mega Crit Games and other indie studios are saving the whole industry.
100%. I’m also a big fan of Yacht Club Games and Drinkbox Studios.
We’re living in a golden age of indie gaming right now; I don’t even look at AAA studio games!
Hard agree. It’s wonderful right now. I put the AAAs that I’m interested in on a wishlist for when they get to a reasonable price, and buy the indies on release (because loads of them have demos and I already know it’s my bag).
I do not have a ton of sympathy for people lamenting the state of AAA DLC laden micro skinner boxes - because you can always just choose something less abusive.
The sheer variety at the moment is so good.
They can announce $80 dollar games if they want but there’s more than a few indies I’d rather give $15-20 too. I may buy it if it gets to $20. Assuming there’s nothing else on the indie scene grabbing it first.
Bastion 2 ?
I’m torn on Narcissus. I had a similar problem when they upgraded Nyx from the placeholder portrait. I got attached to the hooded, robed figure because it just suited them somehow.
I loved Hades, it actually got the rogulike bug stuck in me. I have held off on Hades 2 simply to experience it as a whole piece and as intended when finished. This update seems to be the last major one prior to launch, so I might just have to pull the trigger.
