If this is true, this is the dumbest thing I’ve read today.
If it can’t provide an all-day battery at launch, I can’t imagine how this device will fare even two years into its product cycle.
The phrase “hat on a hat” doesn’t quite capture what I want to say about this, but…if the phone more or less requires an external battery pack from point of sale, that’s a bad phone. Failure by design. Not suitable for most regular users.
There is no shame in admitting ultra-slim tech just isn’t a reality yet & scrapping the project; there is shame in…whatever the hell this is.
They might go ahead & release it, but we shouldn’t buy products that fail by design.
But it is only whafer theen!
They’ll advertise it like that are bringing back swappable batteries.

Listen I’m a fan boi. I’m all Apple all the way. But come on- no one wants a giant 1lb phone, but we also dont want the hummingbird battery that requires and attached 1lb battery case
