    Yes, making my mortgage go sky high along with the massive energy payments i already pay will really help in stopping me over spending on that frivolous expenditure of food. Should really help thanks.

      The cost of living crisis is not going to be solved by making living more expensive to drive down inflation which is caused by record corporate profits and corporate price inflation.

      It’s so backwards. It doesn’t just completely fail to address the cause and source of current inflation, it wrongly blames the consumer for the high prices that we have no control over and actively makes inflation affect us even worse.

    Compulsory purchase of Centrica then dropping prices for British energy retailers might do it. Right to buy for private tenants might do it. It would smash a hole in Hunts buddies unearned profits, though, so maybe he can’t see it quite as clearly as a good thing for the country.

      You’re completely right. These kind of actions is what it would take to make a difference.

      Or even following up with the house insulation program we need to be doing anyway and bring back domestic solar incentives

        Yeah, it’s almost as if making policy that’s only in the interests of big business means we give them more of our hard earned cash.
