The packet contains silica dioxide, which is non-toxic. The only reason the bags make such a big deal about not eating them is to make sure you don’t mistake them for food they might be packed with, and because the bag itself is a potential choking hazard.
From what I understand, nothing. There isn’t anything harmful about them unless you ingest enough to choke or cause blockages.
Presumably similar to if you ate a comparable amount of really clean sand. Can’t imagine it feels great coming out but otherwise just takes up space as it goes through your body.

My cat would try and eat the ones that come with beef jerky . Would just seem to make her really thirsty.
Are you sure the thirstiness was due to the silica beads, and not the jerky?
She didn’t eat the jerky she pulled the empty bag out of the garbage. Also when I googled it since it was worried it also said it would make her thirsty and not harm her .
