Which, while not what they mean, is not entirely wrong; if Angola were the global capitalist hegemon and able to use capitalism as an extractive weapon on other countries, presumably they’d be a lot better off.

This makes no goddamn sense. France is partially capitalist? I could see that being a “social democracy isn’t real capitalism” angle but then why the hell are the Nordic countries full capitalism? Botswana is full capitalism but South Africa is only partial, guessing that’s a “we have to recognize it’s highly developed for Africa but we don’t like Mandela so it gets a ding.”
